What is the ADI Federation?

A unique ADI association set up in 1996 to help and assist the individual professional ADI.

This organisation is not politically motivated and is non-profit making. By working closely with and alongside the DSA, we are more able to get problems sorted in minimum time, leaving our member to get on with what they do best – teaching people driving skills and good practice on the roads.

Our price promise means that we do not increase the level of subscription to loyal members – so if you join today and remain with us, your subscription charges will never increase!

We do not: -

Charge a ‘Joining Fee’

Have a period before offering full membership

Sell products to raise revenue from members

Charge ADIs to attend our general meetings

Help Non-Members (a ruling that has applied since January 2000)

We do: -

Treat every member as an individual

Call back members (who tried to call us to find our line engaged)

Replace freely any ADI Federation window stickers, key fobs and tax disc holders

Source information directly from DSA quickly

Re-locate learner drivers between members (University moves)

Send work to members when possible (requests from public)

Help source Check Test training through our membership

Offer CPD Courses (since 2001)

Have a Fleet Driver Training (Full DSA Accredited) Course

Intervene when members have problems with pupils

Help, assist and support the individual professional ADI during their day-to-day working life.

Testimonial from a happy member.

The ADI Federation is essential piece of kit for any professional ADI, as important as dual controls; a career saver.
After many years as an instructor I decided to take a career break, but was keen to retain my ADI badge to return to later.
I kept my ADI badge and when it was due for renewal 2 years later, I contacted the DSA to request the forms for renewal; I filled them out, returned them and fully expected the new badge to arrive as normal.
When it failed to arrive I contacted DSA who told me I had been sent the wrong forms and needed to complete a CRB check and due to time restraints I would be too late renewing and would have to complete the entire ADI examination process again from scratch.

This problem had taken many long phone calls, being passing to and forth from department to department, it was extremely stressful, and the end result was that I had gotten nowhere.
At that point in desperation I contacted The ADI Federation, we exchanged e-mails and I was lucky enough that she was meeting with the head of the DSA the very next day (Friday) over a different matter, but offered to look into it for me.
That Friday afternoon I was contacted by a senior member of DSA staff who sent me the correct CRB check forms, and issued my new badge with no quibble and an apology, firstly for the wrong forms being sent out and also for the impossibly short time frame to complete the newly brought in CRB checks.

Without The ADI Federation I have no doubt that I would have had to re-register from scratch with the DSA, costing me a huge amount of money and countless sleepless nights.
